Burberry Beauty is a great line for putting together the perfect ”polished neutral” face, and this season’s autumn/winter colour collection is no exception to the rule. Keep reading for a tutorial on this season’s rich brown Burberry makeup look, as seen both on the runway and in their print ad!
Get The Eyes
For a look like this one, start with a basic, matte brown eyeshadow. A warm shade (something with a little red in the base) would be perfect — try MAC Charcoal Brown Eye Shadow. Concentrate the eyeshadow in your “outer v” (for monolids) or in the crease (for double lids), then blend it through the rest of the lid, creating a deep, noticeable-but-natural base. Take a small amount of the colour underneath the eye as well, creating a shadow along the lower lashline.
Next, add shimmer: use a taupe eyeshadow with a finely-milled frost finish to add dimension to the look, concentrating the colour on the lid (rather than in the crease). We love Senna Taupe Glow Eye Shadow here at She Said Beauty — its neutral-yellow undertones are flattering on all skintones, not just warm ones.
Start with a matte base…
…then add shimmer for depth.
Using the same brush, soften the edges of your eyeshadow and pull the shimmer into the matte area, then step back from the mirror to re-evaluate what you’ve done so far. Add more depth to the upper lashline or crease if needed, either blending in more of your matte brown eyeshadow or adding a plummier matte shade, like MAC Shadowy Lady Eye Shadow.
Finally, finish the eyes by adding a soft taupe or brown eyeliner to your waterlines, pulling it into your lashes with an angled eyeliner brush. (We used one of the pencils from Physician Formula‘s Nude Eyes Eyeliner Trio in this look.) Curl lashes and add mascara, and (for a little extra definition), pull a soft black eyeliner along the outer 2/3 of your upper lashline.
Get The Skin
Pair your smokey brown eyes with natural, velvet-finish skin — try Burberry Velvet Foundation for a comfortable, long-wearing formula. Conceal any discolouration or blemishes, and finish with a thin layer of pressed powder.
Keep your powder in your handbag (as well as your eyeliner and lipstick), and you’re set to go!
Get The Lips
When adding your lip, choose a sheer, natural lipstick for a polished finish that’s easy to touch up on the go. The colours included in this Autumn’s Burberry makeup collection are Sepia Pink and Mocha Glow, both Burberry Lip Covers, and either will work well with this look — just pick depending on your skintone!
